i have set the webservice ok and i can log in from my computer and laptop in the house i can log in and view my cctv ok.the problem i have that is that my father cant login from is a computer at is address ???????

i have a belkin router,i throught you can view your cctv from anywere using this softwear, if so what am i doing wrong ??? in my dvr settings or router ????????here is the setting i have in my dvr

Can you be more specific, clearer as to your intent. Do you wish to access your DVR from inside your home network or outside?

the problem is that this forum will not let you add every thing its thinks its spam its crap you can't put a full question in .i will like to view from out side and log in from any computer .is there any other online servers that you can use for free that can do this .i can view it from inside my house no problem .but if i was in work can i view it there as well .

Do you have a static or dynamic IP? Have you set up port forwarding on your router?Being able to connect via your home computer sounds like you have the basics right.

i have a dynamic IP that dont change that much, i think i have port forwarding but not sure as there are settiings in my router like

TCP IP LAN IP Address Protocol Type LAN

Port Public

Port Enable

Need to set up port forwarding in your router for the dvr IP and probably register with DYNDMS.com to keep track of your IP for login purposes or there is another one you can check into besides, there are posts on this subject already that will probably help.

Bigjay use DYDNS.com use port 8000 for viewing the video feed. Make sure you have the firewall turned off on the modem, let the router do all the filtering and port forwarding. Make sure the only device doing the DDNS updating is the router. Go to this website to ensure that you have the proper ports open https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 . Select user defined port and scan the port you selected, make it is 8000. Make sure in host name on the DDNS router settings you input the host address with out http: or www simply your assigned DNS name.com. Also enable remote management on the router. There are tutorials on this website that teach you how to port forward and the basics of networking in an hour or so youll be on your way.

 

1) Create an account at DYDNS.COM from the location you are installing the system.

 

2)Determine what your dynamic external ip is at the site by going to http://whatismyip.com

 

3)Enter appropriate data in your newly created DYDNS account including IP and DNS name you wish to use for your camera system or other device. (Example myhomecam.homelinux.com)

 

4) the name will be associated with the ip you put in.

5) set appropriate port forwarding on the router and setup DDNS on the router and your good to go

 

6) Select a good router example (Linksys WRT54G /GS not the WRT54G, the GS has twice the memory and it wont freeze or quit) use port 8000!

 

7) Go here to make sure the ports you need are open from the outside https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2, make sure all your devices inside the network are configured and plugged in.

i have tried the above and i can't do this there must be a easy way to set the dvr up .the problem is the instruction book that came with it is useless on my dvr in network setting i have ip address

ddns host name server ip port enable ppp0e i have information in all of these they are default ip address numbers and letters note these are not my router settings there must be away round this as i have PlayStation 3 and other computers working through my router .
