Drop ceiling mounts

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. Fairly new to CCTV. Have a Geovision system running at my house and will likely be installing a new system at my father's business this year.

My question is, what type of mounts do you guys use for drop ceilings?

I have seen domes used quite a bit, and that seems pretty straightforward, but what about if you want to mount a box camera (and not leave it exposed, but using an enclosure). I have gotten best picture quality out of these.

Thanks for the forum, and thanks in advance for suggestions!

Is it a T-bar drop ceiling?

How about this dome enclosure for box cameras?

I like that, but the tiles are about 2 x 4' rather than 2' x 2'... Any suggestions?

I tried to see if they offered a 2X4 model, but I can't remember where I found that!

But, if you had to use a 2X2 enclosure you can pop rivet a piece of T bar in place to support the enclosure end and then cut the tile down to 2X2.

This is from Wren Associates and might suit your needs. This replaces a 2x2 tile and is 360 degree adjustable.

The PDM9 from Panasonic comes in 2x2 or 2x4 versions.

You'll also pay a premium for Panasonic but its good stuff!

The above picture that "rapid" posted is available from Wren however I think Videolarm manufactures the item as they do a variety of mounts for various vendors.
