mburris 0 Posted March 18, 2008 currently I am using 2 geovision V3E's to capture data from 2 Verifone Ruby Super System II registers. I've got like 15 more stores to go, and would like to not have to use the data capture boxes. To get the data to the boxes, I'm using the existing serial cable that used to be plugged into the old school text inserter box. This serial cable is coming from basically a data-tap type "T" adapter that resides inline right before the printer. What would be the problem with using an ethernet cable with DB9 adaptors on each end to get the data from the old text inserter to the serial port on the Geovision DVR? ezCCTV 0 Posted March 19, 2008 What is the distance from POS to GeoVision system. There is a limit on the distance you can run an RS232 signal.
