dqdude 0 Posted March 20, 2008 I currently have a 16 camera system in my business. I am using a teknovation dvr for this. I need to add another 4 cameras with the ability add more later. I am looking at the Geovision GV-800 for this. My confusion comes with all the new terminology since my last purchase. If I interpet what I have read...ip cameras offer the best picture quality??? There are digital and analog cameras??? I'm not sure what to buy anymore. If this helps...I prefer to use a dvr card in my PC. Which is why I am looking at the GV-p800. Any comments and help is appreciated. Maybe a link to an analog, digital ip cameras for dummies site would be cool!
VST_Man 1 Posted March 20, 2008 IP cameras are the sch'nit. Great pictures, BUT, they also experience some issues that analog cameras have; low light smear, backlight, ect. You can integrate a IP solution into your current analog by purchasing a "Hybrid" DVR card/system. Hybrid allows for both analog & IP camer setup/recordings. A good example is the Avermedia 6480express. Look into the pros and cons of both. can anser questions as you think of them
