Guest Posted March 20, 2008 Hi! I am working in Norway, northern Europe. I am curios about information regarding CCTV surveillance in night clubs and bars. In Norway there is not allowed to use CCTV in night clubs, bars and cafè's due protection of personal privacy. But I have seen in some other countries like Thailand that "all" bars/night clubs have CCTV someone even told me the bar owner would be fined if police did find out they didnt have! I also seen at bars in Denmark and UK that they use CCTV. So I would like to now what country you have knowledge about the CCTV in bars, nightclubs and if there are any special remarkes if using it. Information would be very much preciated! Regards JoinDVR
VST_Man 1 Posted March 20, 2008 I believe New York City has an law that now requires bar owners to install CCTV? The challenge is how to get decent pics in low light, or areas with crazy neon's, flashings, ect. Bars are extremely hard to cover.

mr.surveillance 0 Posted March 20, 2008 Here in California it isn't required as yet. I recommend it! Video of bar robbery attempt: It happened less than a month after putting the system in.
