eyeonutech 0 Posted March 22, 2008 Hi, I've been in IT for 15 years now and have always been comfortable with PC based systems. I'm now looking to switch to Stand Alone. Can anyone help me pick a few systems for my customers? Most installs will be in small retail shops. So price for them will be a concern. They will not be looking for ultra high end equipment. Also, can you point me to the dealers of these products. Thanks, Minh Requirements: System 1: Real Time View and Record at CIF Resolution Dynamic DNS support Mouse Control (would like but not a must) Remote via Internet Explorer or downloadable client from DVR (would like but not a must) System 2: Real Time View and Record at Full D1 Resolution Dynamic DNS support Mouse Control (would like but not a must) Remote via Internet Explorer or downloadable client from DVR (would like but not a must)
eyeonutech 0 Posted March 25, 2008 Wow, no replies. Anyway, I have found my D1 Realtime solution. I still need recommendations for the CIF Realtime System. These will be budget systems. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck. System 1: Real Time View and Record at CIF Resolution Dynamic DNS support Mouse Control (would like but not a must) Remote via Internet Explorer or downloadable client from DVR (would like but not a must) Thanks in advance, Minh
CottyGee 0 Posted March 25, 2008 I'm curious what you picked for your D1 Realtime. (I didn't reply because I didn't have any idea what to suggest! )
eyeonutech 0 Posted March 25, 2008 ICRealtime Pro Series Not because it is superior to everything else, but it is the only one I could find so far that does 16 channel D1 Real Time. If anyone else has a better suggestion, I'm open ears. Thanks, Minh
Daryl733 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Just curious. Apart from casino, etc. Does anyone really do 16 chs real time in D1 considering the storage needed ? How much storage will it goes through per day for all 16 chs ? and how much storage does it support, and how much storage are you willing to spend ?
eyeonutech 0 Posted March 26, 2008 According to ICR's website, 16 cameras on the pro system recording continuous will give you 7 days with around 1 terabyte of hard drive space. I would setup the systems on motion only giving possibly 2 or 3 weeks. Hard drive space is cheap. 1 terabyte will cost me less than $200 retail.

I have customers insisting on 6 months recording. So 1 terabyte x 4 x 6 = 24 Tera. And Yet they insist that 500GB is enough. And not all system support 24 Tera, Most only up to 4 HDD, or 8 HDD at most without additional hardware equipments.
RickA 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Have you looked at any of the Nuvico dvr's?
eyeonutech 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Does Nuvico have a model that will do 16 channel D1 Realtime? On a side note, Am I better off just sticking with PC Based? I can make the OS rock solid, PC parts are cheap now a days and I can put tons of hard drives in them. What do you guys think. Remember, I've been building computers for 15 years. Thanks again
