Daryl733 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Anyone has any experience with using Axis Video Intelligence System ? http://www.axis.com/products/video/about_networkvideo/iv/system_design.htm What i need is to analyse location for activities. When the activities exceed a preset amount of time, e.g. 3 hrs, it'll trigger an alert and sent out email, etc to user. Any recommendation ? Looking at maybe 80-100 pcs of cameras, to do that. So Large Scale implementation is neccessary.
thewireguys 3 Posted March 26, 2008 You need http://www.Aimetis.com . Their video analytics is very good. Their motion detection can tell the difference between people and cars. When you use it on a camera that is outside you it will ignore trees and other objects that are none threats. Axis software has motion detection and tampering alarms but you can only use a maximum of 25 cameras. Aimetis you can have unlimited cameras. But keep in mind if video analytics requires a lot possessing power from your server. You can download a free 60day trial of the Aimetis software on their website. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

So the only way to link back all cameras would be either by 3G, or multiple wifi connecting the cameras and using broadband to connect back to a central location. Using powerful server at the backend for processing all these network cameras input should not be a issue. But the linkage back to the hq might not be stable, and also the bandwidth might not be that fast. So system must be able to do low framerate analysis as well. Let me take a look at it. Any other recommendation ?
rickdick 0 Posted March 29, 2008 You should try contacting Cognimatics. They have video analytics that runs directly into standard networks cameras like for example Axis cameras. They are good.
