jisaac 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Does anyone know of a small AC line conditioner that can go out in a NEMA enclosure out on a pole? Alot of UPS have it built in however I am not looking for a UPS. Just a indipendent AC line conditioner. Any ideas? IF you know of one please list the model # and a place to buy. Thanks
rory 0 Posted March 27, 2008 APC and Triplite make various Voltage Regulators. Not sure Ive seen any that could be placed in a weatherproof box though, the regular ones can get very hot (I have one here BTW, didnt really need the UPS, just the VR)
jisaac 0 Posted March 27, 2008 not really needing VR but a ac line condition/noise regulators or whatever term people use
rory 0 Posted March 27, 2008 A Line Conditioner is a Voltage Regulator.
wattwire 0 Posted March 28, 2008 Line conditioners use large capacitors to stabilize fluctuations in voltage and therefore are inherently large in size. You may want to consider placing one upstream (off the pole) where it is easier to protect from the elements. Just curious, what sort of equipment are you trying to protect? Are you having trouble with voltage spikes or brown outs? -dw
jisaac 0 Posted March 28, 2008 they are usually hand in hand. I am not saying I cant have AVR. Its impossible to get a line conditioner without a avr (i think) However I primarily need a way to condition in the input of ac. I need these types of features Balanced Pi, Wide Band Input Filter Differential & Common Mode Protection 100 KHz to 125 MHz; 55 db Attenuation Ferro-resonant transformer filtering Isolated winding interference & harmonic rejection
