wojo 0 Posted April 11, 2008 I'm looking for some help with rj11e pinouts on the modular ends. Customer had us re-wire after relocating the monitor to a new location. the contractor cut the existiong wires. (great) system is the Smart choice SO4174q monitor with RJ11E connections. system was working prior to the start of the construction and can only "assume" the it is still good. tried connecting the camera rightto the back of the monitor and still no joy. any help on a pdf manual or pinout inof greatly appreciated. tks
C7 in CA 0 Posted April 11, 2008 RJ11E on both ends? or is it JR11 to BNC? I'm not familiar with the equipment you mentioned, but RJ11 line cords are typically crossover. RJ11 jacks are wired straight through.
wojo 0 Posted April 15, 2008 Scott tks for reply , new to the site so cant pm you yet. I'm telco interconnect guy, key and pbx systems etc, RJ11 is standard phone connections but the unit I was looking at specififed an RJ11E. it is the connection for the camera. it used a 6 conductor modular end(which fits in a RJ11 jack) (a Rj45 8 pin connection is not needed) The back of the monitor and the camera both have modular jacks, no BNC used. When we first connected a camera we did have an image but then lost it. I hope some one can let me know what signal is on what pin, eg. + - voltage to power the camera, video xmit pair, there is also a mic on the camera, etc. I'm hoping that the ports were not fried. wojo
