Clock not working

Recommended Posts

hi all

Got an old and cheap Maplin 4 ch DVR, ( actually its not as bad as what you may think) anyway the in built clock doesnot work. I can set the time and date but when i exit to live pictures and the clock dont move, even when play back. i thought it may be the internal battery but replaced it but no joy even shorted the two jumpers next to it but nothing.

any ideas??

as the unit was cheap and is out of warranty that would be the last resort, i take it that its a single simple chip that is used but if i wanted to replace it i would have to speak to the chinnes manufactuer

may have to lease how it is for now,

also when i short out the jumper the seconds digits change to the number 5 and the @ sign. Does that mean any think?

cheers

yes what you did is to manually move the clock. maybe the crystal oscillator running the clock is not functioning anymore
