Help with camera and dvr

Can anyone tell me what camera and dvr to buy? I need one camera with night vision and good to very good resolution. This is for my home and is already pre-wired at my front door. I would prefer something very small but has good range. Maybe 80 to 100 feet. I have already had my car broken into and my yard trenched so I would like to catch the teens at some point. I am obviously being payed back for my own youth. I have no idea what the price points are so I guess lets start with $850-$1000 for both. Thanks for the help.

I would recommend hiring a local CCTV company to comeout, and do a site survey, and have them make recommendations.

Without a sitesurvey it would be like asking a surgeon to cure your ailments without looking at Xrays, or a cat scan before he cuts you open.

If you are on a budget then let us know what kind of wires are pre-wired.

You may have to take some pictures around your house for us to look at.

You will have to decide one, or the other. Do you want to watch during the day, or during the night, or do you want two cameras to due both.

Since you are asking for night vision it seems that you are more interested at what goes on at night.

Buy the cameras to match your environment, then buy a DVR that matches the cameras. If you have high resolution cameras then buy a DVR with high resolution. If you buy crappy cameras, then I guess it does not matter what kind of DVR you buy.
