Too much glare/reflection through window?

Recommended Posts

I am considering going on the cheap and installing my front house cam inside against the front window. It would be on angle, prob 40 degrees or so.

The cam will either be a Panasonic WV-CW474AS (only cam at present) or a Panasonic WV-CP484 (hopefully).

My concern is the neighbors gawking, talking, pointing etc. that they have a cam and no one else does blah blah. So I would like to be a little discreet if possible with the front cam. The back I don't care and am going to use a Pelco EH3512-2 MT housing eventually.

Any issues with glare or reflection doing so?

Tx.

I had a camera behind reasonably dark curtains looking through the glass of the window. At night all I could see was the reflection of the curtain.

You'll need a lens shroud of some nature. If you have the the lens so close it's almost in contact with with the window glass it would be easy enough to exclude the light between lens and window.
