GV-250 WDM driver - does not work after reboot

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm trying to use my custom software with GV-250 card.

I tried btwincap WDM driver but it works only until rebooting the computer.

After computer reboot I get blue screen in AMCap. Before rebote video capture works perfectly.

My steps:

1. install original driver

2. install wdm driver (don't uninstall old ones) -> video capture works

3. reboot computer -> video capture does not work (blue screen)

Anyone experienced the same problem?

Thx.

Wow, you must have a lot of time on your hands. Not sure anyone can answer or help you considering it is "custom" software you are attempting to use on a GV card. How could anyone experience the same problem since it is custom?

When it's a video problem I always ask this first, "Do you have the latest DirectX 9c plug-in installed?"

Lastly, why not just modify the GV software to your liking? They have a SDK available. Plus they have awesome support. I also get tremendous support from my Geovision distributor Sentry Security Systems in Kingston, On.

Yeah had this problem recently also .. every reboot I had to reinstall the drivers all over again Luckily I was only using AmCap to test some cameras outside of the Geo software though.

Maybe its some anti piracy feature on the cards chip or something that changes on reboot .. dont see how but only a thought. Dont remember having this a couple years back when i tried it then.

@ rocko_mtv the SDK doesnt let you do much in that respect, in fact its pretty much just an ActiveX and then a seperate couple DLLs that need the Geo Server open for you to be able to do anything. However anyone can modify the Geo skins without having the SDK and therefore making it somewhat customized.
