rory 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Using this with separate color and BW bullet cameras: http://www.fmsystems-inc.com/cw/Details.cfm?ProdID=205&category=4 And a photocell to somehow send 12VDC to it? The unit operates with any video standard and is compliant with 75 Ohm standard video terminations. The unused video input is always terminated with 75 Ohms internally, while the throughput video is switched straight through without any amplifiers or buffers to prevent loss of video when power is off. The 12 VDC or 24 VDC input operates the switch. When power is supplied the relay will be in the “B†
zmxtech 0 Posted April 26, 2008 instead of a photocell setup you could hook up a small 12 dc plugpack to the areas security lights so when they are on so is the night cam. OR -there are many kits that have photocells /LDR`s or photo-transistors just make sure the dwell time is slow to stop headlights etc z
kensplace 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Nice little unit, seems very expensive for a plastic box, 3 bnc sockets, 1 2 way connector, a relay and a bit wire or pcb though.. For that price it should have the photocell built in (or on a plug in wire), with adjustable settings etc.

sinbad 0 Posted April 26, 2008 pardon the ignorance, anyone mind explaining what will it be used for?
rory 0 Posted April 26, 2008 No Day Night camera can beat the quality of a separate BW and separate color camera .. hence the idea is to make something similar to an Extreme CCTV EX82, but on the cheap side.
CollinR 0 Posted April 26, 2008 Love the idea! Hope people buy a bunch and bring that cost down.
scorpion 0 Posted April 26, 2008 This could also be used for a doorbell video. Switch off the TV video, and see who is at the front door!
zmxtech 0 Posted April 27, 2008 I do make them but for custom projects, last one I used was Jaycar kit KG9090 they are in Australia but you get the idea> http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KG9090&CATID=25&keywords=&SPECIAL=&form=CAT&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=588 I replaced their relay with a better one also the spiel > 12V Light Operated Relay Kit B045 This kit can operate as a twilight on/off switch or as a light trigger relay. Operated from 12 volts, this versatile project triggers a 6-amp relay when the light intensity falls below an adjustable threshold. Turn lights on around the house when it goes dark or trigger an alarm when a light is switched on. z
