501 0 Posted October 17, 2008 I've installed about 4 of them. VERY easy product to install and program. Very easy for customers to program too. Could use a few more features. First generation, using AS Server V1.0 AS Manager, replaces this and is now ver.1.1 The setup was very simple and nothing fancy. Just some office doors and the shop area. my pros: extremly easy to setup interface straight forward easy intergration with GV DVR Card programming/adding users easy my cons: limited support many bugs exporting DB, not all info is there doesn't always read the cards properly I must say that I am not fully convinced. Two other cons we encountered: You cannot use the GV-Readers for indoors, and a "supposedly" 26 0r 37 bit compatible cold weather HID reader on the same system: you have to use all HID readers. We found this out the hard way, when GeoVision directed us to an allegedly acceptable cold weather reader, and discovered that their spec was wrong - it was only good to about 4 degrees. It could read the cards, but not fobs. Turns out there is some sort of ISO compatibility issue between the supposedly compatible HID reader and GeoVision. They have a lot of bugs to work out - though GeoVision says they're building us a reader which will be cold weather (-40) rated reader that will work. We'll see. They also don't have an elevator module, which I badly need. Major pro: their price-point is good. Con: doesn't matter, if you constantly have bugs to work through.
