Wolverine 0 Posted May 4, 2008 Hi All, I have a problem .. I bought a house a few years ago with CCTV already installed .. unfortunately the box which the cameras plug into has stopped working. I have tried most places to find a replacement to no avail. The problem seems to be that the cameras have 4P4C style connections (they look like the bit that plugs into the handset of a telephone) I cannot find a box to take these .. any ideas ? If you need to see what they look like just put 4P4C into google images search and they will pop up. Thanks, Steve
jeromephone 6 Posted May 4, 2008 Look into replacing the whole thing. I know that is not really the answer to your problem but in the long run you will be much better off with standard bnc connectors etc as if one of your cameras goes a lot of the time they have the cables molded into them and you won't find an exact replacement. scorpion 0 Posted May 4, 2008 can you open the cameras to see the color code of the wiring? You can cut off the 4P4C connector, and crimp on a bnc and use butt connectors for the power. Now? Is it AC, or DC?? What product is the system??
coolie11 0 Posted May 4, 2008 If you're happy with the images from the cameras you already have, then you can buy a regular DVR and use these. http://macecatalog.com/cctv2.asp?Model_ID=473&Task=Detail Or http://www.covisec.com/product/ALD-400LCDR?META=bizrate-ALD-400LCDR
