windies 0 Posted May 6, 2008 Hello, I have a DVR system, it labeled as 4CH MPEG4-DRV. I normally back up data and view them on PC as needed, the file extension when backed up from the DVR is .787 file type. I lost the PC along with the software to view it, but managed to recover the DVR in a workable condition. Is there some other software that can be use to view these .787 file type? (of if you are generous enough to send me such a program -_-; ) Thank you. w.
Scruit 0 Posted May 6, 2008 Does the DVR have a CD/DVD or USB backup? Sounds like an AVTech or CPCam DVR. The CD/DVD/USB backups will save a file called playback.exe with the .787 files.
windies 0 Posted May 6, 2008 The DVR does has a USB back up (USB slot), but apart from the .787 file, it didn't create any other file. I look around in the menu but there is no option for what to do when create a back up file. w.
scorpion 0 Posted May 6, 2008 Does it look like any of the DVRs in this weblink? http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx If so then you can scroll down and down load Video Server E (or video server S if that is what you use).

scorpion 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Those thanks mean a million! I set up that webpage for exactly this purpose. I get 1600 hit a month at a minimum from google searches, plus the other search engines, begging, and hunting for information, or for downloads that they need. It is really nice to hear feedback that the webpage has value to someone. It really makes it worthwhile all of the work that I have put in assembling tid bits of information that created this "library" of information. Which DVR do you have?
