highspeedphysics 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Can someone tell me what these are used for and what application? B-connector - Silicone filled:
rory 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Gel filled, and we called them Beanies (they also come without gel). We used them for telco wire (2 pair 22awg) in the Burglar Alarm Industry, such as joining (splicing) 2 wires anywhere corrosion may occur (eg. weatherproof gang box near the oceanside). With Beanies you can just use your small cutters to clamp them tight, or even remove them if needed. scorpion 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Hey! You found my long lost bag of beanies! Would you be kind enough to send them back to me? This is my favorit connector! Speaker wire, alarm wire, 12 volt wire, telephone wiring (and voip), PTZ wiring, and card access wiring. You do not have to strip off the ends of the wires to make a connection as the beanie will pierce the insulation of both wires to make a connection. I prefer a mechanical connection so I will strip, and twist my wires, then slide them in to the beanies.
