rriospr 0 Posted May 25, 2008 That's exactly what I need. It is important for me to have 1 alarm out (2 preferred) and email notification with a snapshot image of the video or the video itself attached. I'v seen some already under or close to $1K so preferably that would be my budget. Please suggest. Somebody broke into my house and I want to have this ASAP.. Thank you. scorpion 0 Posted May 25, 2008 If you are on a budget, and you are willing to except some lower grade video quality, then I would recommend the AVC 776W. Go to this link, and you can see a photo of the product that I speak of. http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx You can scroll down and find the manual for this DVR. This will allow you to read it before you buy it to see if it meets your needs. The DVR is great for a budget system, and you can watch it over the internet. There are some limitations to the internet device built in to the DVR, and you may want to pay more for a better DVR if viewing over the internet is important to you. rriospr 0 Posted May 25, 2008 Thank you. I'll check it out. In the mean time, any opinion on the Everfocus EDR810H? From my "not so extensive" it seems to have all the features that I want and is under the $1k price tag.
scorpion 0 Posted May 25, 2008 I have never installed it, and I have never used it. I cannot help you with that one!
rriospr 0 Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) Scorpion, I could not find internet or email features in the manual other than an illustration requiring an external video server. Is that the one you mentioned? The AVC785 seems to be the one... Edited May 25, 2008 by Guest
scorpion 0 Posted May 25, 2008 It comes with software called Video Server E. This will allow you to email, or to send video to your computers desk top, and convert the video to AVI. You can download the AVC 785 manual if you like. This info is on page 37 of the AVC 785 manual. This is a much better DVR then the AVC 776W, but it still has the same video server attached to it. I like the 785 DVR. It has other options where you can add a disk array for more storage. It has a plug for IR control if you have to remote the DVR somewhere else. I hope that webpage is not information overload!
rriospr 0 Posted May 25, 2008 Thanks Scorpion. This seems like a better option. I'll read a little bit more about the unit and if I should have any more questions I hope you don't mind me asking. Again thanx.
Chengo 0 Posted May 27, 2008 About the e-mail notification with snapshots... Does anone know how to set it up properly? I'm kind of stuck with my DVR. I have tried everything I could think of but still no luck. Thanks in advance, Chengo
