djdes22 0 Posted May 28, 2008 have been running 2 gv-1240s for the past two years and have recently caught an employee stealing $1000. So I decided to update my computers and add a third system to host a total of 48 cameras. I would really like to monitor all 48 cams (3 PTZs) from home on a full time basis via a large LCD or multiple monitors. Questions: what should i use to monitor them from home? Center V2? And what display configuration should i get... multiple 20" monitors? one or two large LCD tvs? How many video cards, etc? What resolution? Anyone that can help me is welcome for some free drinks at my place. Also, what format should i record in? Each of my computers have 1.5TB for storage. secureconcepts 0 Posted May 28, 2008 center v2 can handle a maximum of 42 on one screen and is designed for motion detection (pops-up if motion is detected). You can scroll the screen, but one fysical monitor. Control center is better (up to 4 monitors, with fixed images) and even a separate motion detection screen. As log as the upload is ok, but I have tested it and can get over 40 cam's on a 4 mb download. Use H264 as codec.
