eric9547 0 Posted May 28, 2008 Is this ingress rating good enough for an outdoor camera? Will it be able to stand in rain without moisture porblems?
wisp_engineer 0 Posted May 28, 2008 I found an IP rating explanation over on Honeywell's site today but it wont allow me to link to it. I'll have to download the PDF and host it on my FTP site. IP67 is as follows 6 signifies Protection against dust tight (no dust allowance inside enclosure). 7 signifies Protection against temporary immersion (30 minutes under 1m of water) I think 67 is ok for outside use, but someone can verify. I am still too new to this whole thing.
PsychoMantis 0 Posted July 2, 2008 even 65 is very good for outside! i think you don't need 67 as long as you're installing a camera on a ship deck.. even ip 66 would do enough.. where 6 means the equipment can tolerate frequent water jets.. dont worry at all! RickA 0 Posted July 2, 2008 http://www.ezscreen.com/ip_ratings.htm This is a good link for IP ratings and IP66 is alright for outdoor, IP67 is better, for IP65 would only use outside in a protected area. Hope this helps.
