RGS 0 Posted May 31, 2008 Hello, New guy here I have installed 5 outdoor housings with IR cameras inside each one 2 of them are fine at night the other 3 give me a perfect image of the camera lens. Am I too close/far to the housing glass or do these cameras not work in a housing? Probaly a pretty common new guy error! Glenn
DVR MAN 0 Posted May 31, 2008 Try placing the lens against the glass, or better yet, make a short tube out of Styrofoam or sponge rubber that will fit the OD of the lens. Paint it flat black and slide it over the front of the lens and mount it flat against the glass. The tube should stop the reflection of the I/R in the glass. Rebco 0 Posted June 2, 2008 Can you give us an idea(model number or pictures) of the camera and the housing?
CollinR 0 Posted June 2, 2008 You shouldn't install IR cams inside housings or domes. The tube method mentioned previously is probably your best bet.
