Setup of Center V2 . HELP!

Recommended Posts

I have three gv-1240s at a nightclub with a 2.5mbs upload. I want to watch all 48 cams remotely at my home. I just purchased 2 -32" lcd tvs and have two desktop computers to work with. How do I set up Center V2 to watch all 48 cams on two different machines. my understanding is that you can watch 24 cams on each monitor for a total of 48.

Can someone help me set up the CV2 on my home PC? do I need a static IP at my home to connect the GV Systems to it? I would appreciate it if someone could give me step by step instructions on how to do this. we have a lot invested in equipment, but am unsure how to remote monitor without going through multiview. (which i don't want to use).

thanks in advance.

Who setup and installed the equipment originally? Are they able to help?

CenterV2 can be a bit of a pain to set up unless you have some idea on basic networking, port redirection, static vs. dynamic IP addresses, etc.. It's not a cut and dry walk-through sort of situation.

well...what we really want to do is just monitor all of our 48 cams from home. we installed the system ourselves at the club and i have people that understand networking and what not, we just don't know what exactly to do to set it up. hard to follow the geovision instruction manual. i can certainly get a static ip address if thats what it takes. i have pcanywhere on all the machines so if someone knew what to do, they could log in remotely to do it. i would even pay someone.

is center v2 even the program i should be using to monitor all 48 cams?

1. You don`t need statick ip adress, you can use ddns on GV cd.

2. You can use thre pc to wach 48 cam at the same time.

3.on first pc you can leave gv center v2 ports by deafult, on the next two pc you have to change center v2 ports and forward it to a 2`nd and 3`th pc. EX. on youre 1`st Pc you forward 5547. 2`nd PC you forwad 5557 and on youre 2`nd gv you have to set center v2 port to 5557 and on youre 3`th pc you forward 5567 and on youre 3`th gv you have to set center v2 port to 5567.

By the deafult ports are. 5545,5546,5547,5548,5549.

5547 is center v2 port by deafult.

sory for my bad english

the computer that will be monitoring the center v2 is at an offsite location. each of the GV Systems have their own static IP addresses. The monitoring offsite computer at my home doest not. does this affect the setup in anyway?

You can set up anyway. you have to install ddns on pc where is center v2. (you have it on gv cd)

and register at dipmap. And when you conect gv to center v2, in the center ip field you tipe youre registration at dipmap. EX 123456.dipmap.com

Dear Djfes,

You have 3 DVRs and 2 desktops at home for CV2.

You would like to view all 48 channels within these two destop machines..

Actually you can simply use one PC desktop with a dual VGA outputs then you will be able to view all 48 channels....

Yes, brankorackovic is right about register a ***.dipmap.com for your CenterV2....

Why don't you just use one desktop PC for a CV2 then connect all the 48 channels.... this CV2 must support 2 VGA outputs for both of LCD monitors. In this way, you only need to register one DDNS for a CV2...

Ooh yeah....FYI...

Different screen resolution will support different division.

For instance, in 1024*786 dual monitors, the max channel division in each monitors is 36. However, with 1280*1024, the max channel division in each monitor is 42.

Sincerely,

ok I try my Cv2 with dual vga output. On the main monitor in the resolution 1280*1024 you can get 42 cam. On the extended monitor you get event list. In GV 8.2 you can add 2 different cv2 ip adress, to conect on the 2 different CV2, but I didn`t find solution to separate wich camera conect to first cv2 and wich to conect on 2`nd cv2. Maby Andy know that is it possible to separate cam on two different cv2. In that case you can use 2 desktop to conect all 48 cams. I didn`t try control center but I heard that you can view more then 48 cams.

I have cv2 8.2 and just now I see that cv2 8.2 suport 1600*1200 resolution. If your vga suport 1600*1200 maby you can get all of 48 cams.

Andy told that the resolution 104*768 suport 36 cam. 1280*1024 suport 42 cam. it is logical that the resolution 1600*1200 suport 48 cams. you can try it. But I think that the pictures gona be to small.

best regards

if you want all on one screen: control center (up to 4 screens and 96 cam's per screen).

Video is fixed (so no motion detection: is possible as well but again 42 cam's). But for a nightclub they would popup all the time anyhow.

You will use more bandwith ! (but not that bad got over 40 screens already on a mobile 3G connection).
