Avtech AVC776W connection problem

Hello to everyone,

 

I have a problem with my AVC776W DVR. I used to be able to connect to it using my computer and the LAN but for some reason it doesn't let me connect anymore.

If someone owns one of these: everytime I hook the ethernet cable from the DVR to the router, the green light starts flashing and the amber one turns on.

I rebooted my router (DLINK) and made sure the network is working. I tried different IP adresses for the DVR (apparently I had a choice of two). I thought that this was a trivial problem but I haven't found the problem yet.

Please help me someone. Once I get this working, I can start fixing the internet connection.

We do not have enough info to work with.

 

Are you an experienced person with DVRs, or are you a DIY (do it yourself).

 

I am thinking that you have a dynamic IP address, and that it changed recently, and now you cannot connect to it.

 

If you go to http://ipchicken.com/

then this will show you your IP address. Is this what you are using to link up to your DVR?

 

Are you using http://www.dyndns.com/ or a similiar dns helper?

 

Did si_kungs advice to power down the unit, and repower it work for you?
