Rebco 0 Posted June 6, 2008 I want your opinion on which you would use for a good customer. I have used the Nuvico and it's ok i guess. But have had to send 2 back for repair. "water damage" CB-SD3895N-L Nuvico Day/Night Color Bullet Camera w/ 36 IR LEDs & Vari-focal Lens-AC/DC I have used and Ok i guess Or Has anyone use this one WZ16 Extreme CCTV Compact Day-Night Camera 520TVL with Integrated IR LEDs
CCTV_Suppliers 0 Posted June 6, 2008 ExtremeCCTV model has much better performance and durable than Nuvico version... Does cost more though...
DVR MAN 0 Posted June 6, 2008 (edited) I like the Nuvico line. I run two of the 3895L type and have had great results. I lube the rear O ring, and assure that the RTV at the cable entrance is sound. I have had no water issues. Rory had issues with flare when there was a light source in front of the cam at night. My cams are looking into an area with no background lights. You are the one that must make the choice regarding value versus price. The Extreme line are super but you must have the budget and need to justify them. I find the illumination on the Nuvicos to be excellent. Far better then the illumination on a camera that I have that cost $125.00 more than the Nuvico, and is about three times larger to boot! C7 in CA 0 Posted June 6, 2008 I found a site that has the Extreme 6 bucks cheaper then the Nuvico. The "Specs" seem better for the Nuvico. More vari in the focal and such. Something else to keep in mind is Extreme is only putting half as much IR on the camera as Nuvico (or nuvico is just using smaller lamps? ) . Is that a consideration? I have seen some specs on the Extremes that seem to have limited I/R distance. Then they seem to go the other way on some with bodacious distance. Either way, they were way more expensive than the Nuvicos. Maybe the above individual should try both with his client present, then they can make an educated decision. rory 0 Posted June 6, 2008 IMO the Nuvico's are better than the WizKids. They are both pretty much the same otherwise, IR, etc. EDIT. I used the WZ18 as a comparison to the Nuvico's, the WZ16 I think are just a Color IR Camera, not a Day Night?

The WZ products are no diff from any OEM from Asia, actually worse IMO.

Nuvico can not match up with ExtremeCCTV hardware... C-mon guys... I haven't used either camera. I'm just going by specifications listed. Hence the quotes around "Specs" in my first reply. Wow! Are they legit? I have seen some specs on the Extremes that seem to have limited I/R distance. Then they seem to go the other way on some with bodacious distance. Either way, they were way more expensive than the Nuvicos. Maybe the above individual should try both with his client present, then they can make an educated decision. They look legit. I just went to google shopping and searched for "WZ16 Extreme CCTV" and followed the cheapest price. Same company carries the Nuvico. Prices are good from what I have seen. Extreme and Wizkid are 2 totally different product lines and quality. The WZ products are no diff from any OEM from Asia, actually worse IMO. Ah, gottcha. That would explain the pricing.
