AVC760 Internal buzzer

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if it is possible to set up the buzzer to sound when one camera picks up motion. There are 3 settings that I can find which affect this

1. Internal buzzer - options on/off

2. Motion buzzer - options on/off

3. Camera detection - options high/low/off

All 4 cameras are set up to record when motion is detected, however only one of them is set to alarm (low). However the buzzer goes off when motion is picked up on any of the cameras.

Has anyone come across this?

You can make all of the camera make the buzzer go off with detection, or you can make all of the camera silent to detection.

As the noise is annoying you may not want 4 cams beeping all of the time.

You could uncheck "detection" in the boxes for the other cameras leaving one camera to detect motion detection.

You could then set the DVR to record by timer, or record 24/7.

Look at page 18 of your manual.

What do you think?

I think this might be my only option, I guess I was hoping to have it all for as little money as possible. I chose motion detection because the DVR only has a 160Gb drive. I suppose I could set the other 3 cameras to record 24/7 and switch on the overwrite option. Motion detection is beginning to annoy me anyway as any brief increase/decrease in brightness (like a cloud passing over) sets all the cameras off.

Have you not tried changing the motion detect settings to reduce the sensitivity to cloud movement? Or just switch off the blocks which are affected by the clouds.

To keep from voiding the warranty (removing the board from the chassis), I just stick a piece of tape over the piezo device.

I filled my piezo unit with silicon caulk and it was still loud, so I don't

think putting tape over it would impact the sound level much. When I

ultimately removed it from the PCB and crushed it with pliers in triumph,

I found that there's actually a little coil of wire on a tiny post underneath

the top diaphram (i.e., like a speaker), so it's a pretty strong little bugger.

However, I think the user is not wanting to disable his buzzer if I understand

him--he doesn't want it completely off. He wants it on for only the 1st

camera and off for the others--which is the part that isn't possible.
