protecvideo 0 Posted June 11, 2008 I finally got the approval for an IP sytem installation. The final questions he needs answered are: If he has the Geo 16-NVR with 8 Geovision Megapixel cameras and 6 axis IP megapixels into it will he be able to view all cameras in 30FPS and change the recording down to say 2-3FPS? Is 8 of these Geovision 1.3MP cameras going to be to much for this system? I haven't had the chance to play with any megapixel cameras so I need any input you can give me. I sent an email to Geovision a couple days back but maybe Andy here can help.
thewireguys 3 Posted June 11, 2008 What megapixel cameras are you looking at? 1.3 , 2 , 3 , 5? You are going to need a beefy server to record 14 megapixel cameras and ALOT of storage. I don't know of any megapixel cameras that stream 30fps @ megapixel resolution. The Geovision will do MPEG4 30fps@VGA MJPEG 15fps@1280x960.
protecvideo 0 Posted June 11, 2008 I will be using the geovision 1.3 MP and there will be 8 per server.
d-tech 0 Posted June 19, 2008 have you done this yet? The GV MP IP cam does not stream more than 15flps at MP res apperently. I heard Geovision has set up a big quad core machine and they have not put on more than 8 MP cams
