0xyGen 0 Posted June 24, 2008 Hi everyone, I am sorry for possible offtopic, but I need your help in find new web hosting provider as soon as possible, because my current host (bluehost. com) is kicking me off, they say 'your account is using a lot server resources', but my website gets only about 200 visitors per day and my disk usage is 1500 MB (maybe they do not like that?) Anyway, what would be your recommendations for getting reliable web hosting? Where are you hosting your websites? Are you happy with your providers? I am now checking hosting24. com - offer looks very nice, but is it real that they can provide unlimited disk space? I have contacted them about this question and they say something that "These days 500GB disk drive costs only $30 per month, so if some day we will run out of disk space we will simply add new 500GB disk drive with almost zero costs and you can continue uploading without any problems". What do you think about it? Maybe things have changed in last 4 years? With my current provider I get only 2GB of disk space for $10 per month.. Any ideas and suggestions are much appreciated. CollinR 0 Posted June 24, 2008 CCTVForum.com is hosted at 1&1, click in the lower left hand corner of the page. I personally use Godaddy but my hosting needs today are pretty low just basically email and storage space without a bunch of DB or even file requests. Unlimited anything is obviously BS you and I both know it's impossible. There are only so many 500GB drives that exist so it obviously cannot be truely unlimted. Google would be running maps and streetview from their $10/mo plan??? I pretty well doubt it. (BTW, google has almost 400k servers worldwide) So much so Google in humor has offered 'infinity plus one" email hosting through Gmail. Since these guys are not normally full of it it's considered humor and not an actual product offer. Once your Yahoo e-mail box is full, you'll be able to transfer it to Gmail and add one more message. Those Yahoos will have a hard time beating that. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Gmail-To-Offer-Infinite-Plus-One-Storage-Size-50967.shtml
scorpion 0 Posted June 25, 2008 I do not know what your needs are, but my website host is free. I do not know how big my website is, but I get 4000 hits a month roughly. https://home.officelive.com/Signup/Default.aspx?sku=SBBase&signupsrc=splitter&lc=en-US My website is poor in appearance as I am not a "website designer", and I do not know all of the tricky little codes, although I wish I did. I would say mine is more for the beginner designer, or a start up business, or for a small Mom n Pop business. This may not be for everyone, but I am extremly pleased with it so far. Excluding my designing what do you all think of a company that provides a free website? How does the back ground look? How does the placement of pictures, links, hyperlinks, font, and metatagging appear from my website? Your feed back is greatly appreciated!

kensplace 0 Posted June 25, 2008 Used godaddy for years myself, their VPS package was great at first, but they have been ripping me off, not giving me the 30gig I purchased, its 3 times now its happened, and its getting ridiculous! Today, ALL my sites on the godaddy server are down, I cant even SSH into the server, its totally dead, and a power cycle did not help. Just waiting for them to get back to me on the support email, not a happy chappy, and not impressed with them today!! Fingers crossed they sort it, when it works its a good package for the price, but at the moment, its not...
McCct29Des75 0 Posted February 28, 2011 I say bite it man, 500gb for $30 is reasonable now days. As you say if you run out of disk space on your Domain they can another 500gb with zero cost which is definitely best. It is the same as my domain hoster I pay $55 fro 1000GB of memory per month.
