highspeedphysics 0 Posted June 24, 2008 I have some questions about Megapixel cameras. Can you use a regular 1/3" or 1/2" camera lens on a megapixel camera?
millertech 0 Posted June 24, 2008 mega pixel cameras use special higher grade lenses. Call your supplier.
Kiwi 0 Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) But, yes, you can get away with a normal lens accepting some amount of degradation in detail. From my Arecont 3.1 MP with a standard but good quality 16mm lens: http://tinyurl.com/6c5gwl Edited July 1, 2008 by Guest
highspeedphysics 0 Posted June 25, 2008 As I understand the megapixels contain cmos camera sensors. Now would they be subject to damage/blinding by lasers or powerful flash lights? Thanks for posting that shot, would it be possible for you to post more photos of that 3 megapixel camera with night time as well?
robert 0 Posted September 21, 2008 I had the same questions. After searching google found this: * If your CCD imager is 1/3" you need 1/3" lens, but 1/2" and 2/3" will also fit! * If your CCD imager is 1/2" you need 1/2" lens, but 2/3" will also fit! * If your CCD imager is 2/3" you need 2/3" lens. * Conclusion: you can use same or bigger lenses but not smaller ones.
