shorn 0 Posted July 1, 2008 Can anyone refer me to a source doc for the PTZ protocol for a Lilin PIH-7600? Our community center was given 3 of these cams and their proposed location and use would benefit from PTZ control rather than locking them in a fixed position. I plan on using them with some relatively inexpensive PC hardware and software, rather than a dedicated DVR, keyboard/joystick, etc. Thanks,
RickA 0 Posted July 1, 2008 Google search turned up this info http://www.meritlilin.us/pdf/7000CSE-5.pdf?osCsid=601925eea06cb531f014e49a9fc5a196. This is a link to the installation manual, according to this the ptz will work with your software or you can use the Li Lin software. Hope this helps. shorn 0 Posted July 1, 2008 That's essentialy the same manual that came with the cams. No protocol info in it. I want to avoid purchasing a lilin kybd/joystick just to do setup and occasional manual positioning. If I have the PTZ telemetry protocol I can duplicate the positioning functioning in PC software or a standalone device, such as home automation hardware. I did find a test program that can be used for basic PTZ function testing for Pelco and Lilin. But I figured that full documentation on the protocol must be "out there" somewhere, as other DVR and security manufacturers (Geovision is one I think) have developed products that work with Lilin PTZ. (I did do a lot of Google searching a few days ago but didn't come up with anything. But I did find this site, which is good to know.) thanks, Steve
RickA 0 Posted July 1, 2008 Check the meritlilin website for more info, maybe even check with support there and ask about the software for controlling the ptz, but according to the manual the ptz will work with most s/w that is available.
