viconmedia 0 Posted July 3, 2008 Hi, I got a system VDR_VDP in the office the VDR was installed. I now need to configure remote control. I installed the VDP on the desktop that needs to remotely view. I can't connect to it, it says connection failed. Is it possible to view this on a web address? As this is security for an office URGENT help would be appreciated. thanks vicon
metafizx 0 Posted July 4, 2008 usually this requires the following: 1. fixed ip address on your NVR PC 2. determine the port the NVR is sending out the remote, may have multiple ports 3. in the router, setup port forward(s) to your NVR ip address what this does is map the ports from LAN ip to the WAN. if you have Dynamic Address for your WAN ip, then you will need to setup DynDNS or No-Ip for tracking the ip changes. the newer routers will support dynamic address updating, and also you can configure the NVR to have the dynamic ip updater installed there. hope this helps. Thanks for your help. sylvie most computer techs should be able to help. Welp, what you could do is use TeamViewer3 on your pc if it's on the network with the DVR and let someone that's more familiar remote into it and try setting it up for you. But you would have to program the information into the dvr yourself. Either this or you may want to try your hand at using www.portforward.com Let us know!
