rory 0 Posted December 27, 2004 Herm, since the US media is not really covering it much, check out the BBC news, if you cant get it on TV like we can here (probably because they get Canadian TV also), then check out: (WELL CNN IS COVERING IT LATE NIGHT INTERNATIONAL CNN FINALLY) This is eyewitness accounts, dont know where your sister in law was going but there are alot of news here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/talking_point/4125619.stm Stories from BBC reporters in the area: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/4125837.stm And the main site with all the links, streaming TV, etc: http://news.bbc.co.uk/ South Asia is a major European tourist spot so thats probably why they are covering it more than the US media. Australia also has tons of tourist there also. Havent had a chance to look for any ausie news sites, maybe DVR can post some. Rory

qman 0 Posted December 29, 2004 Ok, just so you all know, we heard from her today, and she's coming back home tomorrow. Aparently she was on a train over to the resort she was going to when the earthquake happened, so she had to wait 2 days to get to a phone to call anyone. At least she's ok. rory 0 Posted December 30, 2004 Gawd Ive been watching BBC International, they show everything, dead, everything. Do you see the cities like Ache with dead bodies piled up into the middle of the street just to get them out of the way! One city is wiped off the planet, had 95,000 people, survivors are unknown. And the hospitals they are showing the injured rotting away as not enough doctors to help, little kids with gangrene, etc.. Just sad and sickening. ... http://www.p-h-u-k-e-t.com/forum/ http://203.151.217.23/phuket/listbycountry.php http://www.phuket.com/hotel-status.htm
rory 0 Posted December 30, 2004 AND if you thought you have seen anything on CNN or BBC, Or other News TV, check this link out, http://www.waxy.org/archive/2004/12/28/amateur_.shtml Actually the BBC one is pretty depressing, but shows how quick tens of thousands of people on 1 city were suddenly killed without notice.
