Earthquake and Tsunami killed 9,500 people across several Asian Nations.

 

 

Prayers out to all, and hope all our members/visitors from those areas are ok.

Well, all I can tell you is that we are going ape**** over here.

 

My wife's sister just when to India on thrusday, from NY, and we have not heard from her yet. She was going to one of those costal towns that got hit, If by tomorrow we don't hear anything, I'm going to contact the US embassy overthere.

Herm, since the US media is not really covering it much, check out the BBC news, if you cant get it on TV like we can here (probably because they get Canadian TV also), then check out: (WELL CNN IS COVERING IT LATE NIGHT INTERNATIONAL CNN FINALLY)

South Asia is a major European tourist spot so thats probably why they are covering it more than the US media. Australia also has tons of tourist there also. Havent had a chance to look for any ausie news sites, maybe DVR can post some.

I just heard on the news that the US tried to warn them a large wave was coming but couldnt get hold of the proper authorities.

Ok, just so you all know, we heard from her today, and she's coming back home tomorrow. Aparently she was on a train over to the resort she was going to when the earthquake happened, so she had to wait 2 days to get to a phone to call anyone. At least she's ok.

Gawd Ive been watching BBC International, they show everything, dead, everything. Do you see the cities like Ache with dead bodies piled up into the middle of the street just to get them out of the way! One city is wiped off the planet, had 95,000 people, survivors are unknown. And the hospitals they are showing the injured rotting away as not enough doctors to help, little kids with gangrene, etc..

 

Just sad and sickening. ...
