dj29152 0 Posted August 5, 2008 Hey guys, Building a new system for a hotel. 16 cams. I was thinking 480/480 (might change if the price is high) and definitely need Web View/Remote View. So question is geovision, avermedia or a dedicated DVR system? I have always use geovision, and i like them, but since the price of this gig will be high, i want to cut down some places. FYI: Cams: C420MDVAIDC ... Arm Electronics. google them and visit page 17. Remember i need the varifocal because the hallways of the hotel are long so i need to focus them. btw, open to suggestions. Another question. RG59 (siamese) or Cat 5e with baluns? PS: open to suggestions / criticism. Thanks
Armyofone 0 Posted August 6, 2008 I don't use geo,or below 480line camera's,however my rule of thumb is if your recording at 640x480=at least 480line camera's,704x480 use 530 and up,720x480=540and up.To wow! your customers or for good facial recognition, use at least 480lines,I hope this helps. kalpesh_nikumbh 0 Posted August 7, 2008 If it is a exixting hotel!! generally hotels have wireless enabled (wi-fi ) for internal WAN; hence wireless systems are nice ..avoid data cabling!! If good receiver used, cameras can talk thro' 5-6 walls!!! Same we implemented for one of our client !!! Kalp.
