paulb 0 Posted August 7, 2008 New to CCTV. Bought a few cameras and a 8 channel computer based DVR card recently to get up and running. Living in a troubled neighborhood with high crime. Trying to resolve the issues in part by using CCTV. Have two Sony 420TVL cameras with 40+ IR LEDs. Everything is wired and works well. But we have issues with the ambient light in the area. Have a lot 30 feet away from the camera that extends for 125 feet. There are two standard 200W+ security lamps on the lot, 1 Flourex light near the lot and a total of two orangish colored street lights - plus we have some low tree canopy 10 feet above viewing areas. Caught some folks breaking our fence at night and see them on the capture but based on the distance, resolution, clarity, etc. can not make people's faces out in single frames. Capturing 30 FPS so there is lots to select from. Question here is what is out there to combine frames for such purpose of identifying someone caught on video? Any help is greatly appreciated. CyberWatch 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Hi paulb. We have had some success using Video Enhancer for Windows — www(dot)videoenhancer(dot)net — in cleaing up some DVR clips in AVI format. The software is free to download and is fully functional within its 30 day trial period, so if it does not work out for you then no harm done.
