billthornton 0 Posted August 19, 2008 Please can anyone give me any guidance on the best settings to get reasonable playback of recordings on an adsl connection. I seem to get reasonable viewing of live cameras, but as soon as i try to watch recorded footage, the remote viewer grinds to a halt, which i assume is down to something i am doing wrong seeing that live viewings are ok. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill.
VST_Man 1 Posted August 20, 2008 are you dl & viewing? dl and view it.....saves time to dl it and view vice try to review on the run over a connection. I usually dl and go watch TV.come back after 5 minutes and you can zip thru it fine.
billthornton 0 Posted August 20, 2008 Yeah, i have tried dl and view, its a bit strange, as the date/ hour selection screen doesnt give me a button to click to view. However if i just select a camera /hour and hit enter it sort of works, but is very slow. I still dont understand why if i can view the realtime images in 2fps + without any real holdups why the viewing of recorded video is so slow. I have used a xvision dvr card that was older and cheaper than this one and the playback of recorded video was as good as live playback. So i can only assume it is something with my setup.
