hotsalsa 0 Posted August 24, 2008 After doing a firmware upgrade (CPD_V2030) on DVR, it would not come back to life. The LED4 light on the board blinks when first started up then stays on solid. Did a hard reset and still no response from DVR. Any suggestions?
scorpion 0 Posted August 24, 2008 Did you keep a copy of the old Firmware? It may be that you can reload it. I doubt that you can revive the DVR after you have done a hard reset as this locks in the firmware that you installed, and there is no way to reload another firmware. Where did you get the firmware? _____________________________________________________________ http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=13991 http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx Scroll down to almost the bottom of the web page and you will see how to do a hardware reset for various AVTech DVRs. Why are you doing a hardware reset?? WARNING! If you are in the middle of a firmware upgrade, and you are having problems then DO NOT DO A HARDWARE RESET! The DVR will become an expensive door stop! What troubles are you having that you need to do a hardware reset? Let me know if your problem works out!
scorpion 0 Posted November 7, 2008 Let me know if this is a solder in chip, or if it is in a removable socket SM5964 or SYNCMOS SM5964 I want to see if the chip can be burned with a firmware, and to see if it can be brought back to life. Probably will not work, but it is worth a try? What do you think? Thanks
