Cam ghosting

Recommended Posts

Hey, I installed 8 cameras, Photronic brand, pretty good cameras, but I have a problem, I think that I have a ground problem where there is ghost in some of the cameras, I connected them directly to the monitor and I still have the same problem. I have them all running thru CAT5 wire, but I am not using balums, I really never used them and never had any problems.

any ideas?

interference comes to mind straight away. They pick up any kind of electric as the wire is so thin. I would suggest using baluns at the least, but for your problem, sounds like you need to check the wire locations, and worst case scenerio, you might want to look at an Active UTP Receiver with UTP Transmitters, only Active ones get rid of ground hums, and interference, at least with the NVT brand, cant speak for the rest.

also, are you using 24VAC or 12VDC? How are they powered? (Multiple power supply/seperate supplies?)

using separate power supplies.

found out the problem, one of my moron installers to save time ran two video connections on the same piece of CAT5.
