jdpaysnoe 0 Posted September 5, 2008 Hello everyone, I am new to the forum here, but I am trying to do some research and find out information on CCTV systems. I have learned quite a bit in the past 6 hours or so, but there is still a lot of gray areas to fill in and I wanted to see if you all could help me. We have a 12,000 square foot business that we has been broken into in the past a few time so we are wanting to finally get a camera system installed because our other measures have not seemed to work so well. A description of our basic needs: One higher resolution camera mounted 20 feet up pointed at a focused area about 50 feet away. (Well lit area, but outdoors would like it to be as covert as possible) Two cameras with not such high resolution mounted 20-25 feet up. One focused across the front of the building and the other focused across the rear. The front and rear both measure about 70 feet. (Fair to well lit and outdoors as well, not necessary to be covert, but probably tamper proof if possible) One camera with not such high resolution mounted 25 feet up and focused across a 60 foot area with limited lighting. The last camera would be indoors and just above a doorway aimed into a dark warehouse so there will be little to no light there. We mainly just want to be able to see anyone approaching the doorway from that direction. We also wanted to use a PC-based DVR because we are a small company and we need to be able to manipulate the system quite a bit along with being able to log in remotely and view the cameras. I am not sure exactly what I need but I have been quoted anywhere from 2300 to 4000 with very similar "outward" features but I just have no idea on the quality. What would you all suggest? What camera would best fit the needs listed above? (Let me know if you need more info) What PC-DVR would you suggest buying? (We do not currently have a computer that is available for use and that is powerful enough to run the system.) Thanks in advance for any advice, Jeremy
