Seavo SV-V6225 motherboard and hotswappable SATA bay issue

Recommended Posts

We just upgraded to the seavo SV-V6225 motherboard from the last gen DVR board from seavo. The old board has 2 onboard SATA connectors and we would install a 4 port SATA PCI card to hook up to our 6 bay hot swapable SATA drive bay.

The new board has 6 SATA connectors 4 of which are controlled by the bios and 2 controlled by a on board Jmicron raid controller.

Now when we hook this board up to our case with a integrated 6 slot sata bay we get a multitude of errors. drives won't show up, drives will drop while the system is running, when you try to format a drive it will error out and the drive will disappear. the drives work fine hooked up outside the bay, and they work fine hooked up inside the bay on the other motherboards board and through a controller card.

We are pretty sure its a voltage issue and have a work around, but I was wondering if anyone else has run into a issue like this and can maybe offer any other suggestions to help us better understand the problem.

Seavo has discontinued the old board and we need the new features on the new boards.

thanks,

Seb

You might have to configure the bios to recognize the card with the proper chipset selected. Is there an updated driver for windows for the card to possibly be downloaded and installed? Did you conclude it was a voltage issue. Please respond so other people can benefit off the forum.
