Well if you have the GV-DVR server very near the Cash register you need a RS-232 cable, and if it is a bit far away you need the Geovision Data capture box using RS-485. It is pretty easy, but you should check if your cash register is sending the right kind of information because the different pos systems have different ways and protocols on how to send data!
