Avermedia NV5000 issue or camera issue??

Recommended Posts

We are having some major issues with our security system. We are getting banding on the "cameras"... I have attached a picture of what it is doing. We are running 6 cameras on a NV5000 with current drivers. We get banding on all of the cameras (except the X10 cameras and our camcorder)...we have bought new cameras and the problem has continued.

We are thinking at this point that it is a problem with the NV5000, not a camera issue....but would love feedback from anyone who might have a clue as to what is going on....

We have switched out power supplies and cables also and the problem has still continued. Different power supplies vary the intensity of the banding but it is always still there...We have also put the system on two completely different computers and the problem has still stayed! We have also turned off all of the power except for the computer/cameras with no change, but could this possibly be some type of outside interference??

You know it is always a problem when the X10 cheapie cameras are always clear and the higher end cameras are the ones with this problem!

We would love any suggestions that anyone might have on this....

what type cameras? X10's? those are the cheapO's, right? Did they come with real thin cheap cable that connects via telephone plugs? If YES, I'd guess that those camera's & cables are cheap enough to induce trash into your NV5000 card....................

use RG59 siamese.......and "standard" camera's. Avermedia does not and will never include X10 camera's in it's list becasue they are not manufactured to standard specs.

I chaned out many "Cosco" & Sams" type systems and the client alawys likes to save money by leaving those cheap camera's inplace. It never works out becasue they are cheap and they cause issues otherwise overcome with better cables & camera's.
