Bean 0 Posted October 18, 2008 I have a customer in the boonies with satellite internet service. They have a VIA SAT Surf Beam ITE SM2000 modem. They want to be able to access from the internet the Eclipse nubix 4 BC. It is working over the local network. I can't find any info on configuring this modem. Anyone got a dvr working over a sat internet connection? Any help appreciated.
scorpion 0 Posted October 19, 2008 What kind of Sat internet do they have? http://www.satellitefamily.com/satellite-internet.asp
Bean 0 Posted October 19, 2008 I think its wild blue. on a data sheet for the modem says it has built in firewall. I have found a config guide but has no config for firewall. http://www.cpe-labs.com/PDFs/SkyVistaPDFs/SurfBeam%20Modem%20Manual.pdf
Bean 0 Posted October 19, 2008 found a thread on WildBlue forum about setting up a server. Seems port 80 is blocked by WB. I will try a different port next week.
bobby1471 0 Posted October 28, 2008 Also be aware that Satellite internet has limited/unstable upload, and can sometimes be not enough for viewing externally depending on the area and weather conditions.
