Sanra 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Have a look! http://www.hikvisionusa.com/products/dvr_cards.asp From what I understood about dvr cards max number of channels on one card is 16 and PC can handle max 16 channels. My question: Is Geovision card using software or hardware compression. If is hardware how is it possible that this company promise 64-120 channels by 25 fps per channel. Or I just misunderstood something. Any experience with this product. Any comments on this card http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3204&item=5551896344&rd=1 By the way Question about geovision: Is it better one 16 channels or 2 eight channel card for 16 cameras. Thanks!!

rory 0 Posted January 21, 2005 yeah boyz in da forum, how about 64 Kalatel DSR-2000e Single Channel DVRs w/ audio & 2000GB HDD - 60pps ))))))) Plenty $$$$$ though ... ofcourse not the route that any sane person would take ..
Thomas 0 Posted January 21, 2005 Okay, the problems we have with 32 channels is simple. You can't run every camera at 640x480 without flooding the cpu. It also tends to be very tough on storage.
