mysty 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Hi! Would like to found out about security cameras. Any suggestion of brands & models of cameras which fit the following descriptions? 1) low lux (would be used in a dark room) 2) wide angle (i want a wide angle view of the room) Another question is how to tell what's the angle the lens can take in? 90 degrees? 100 degress? etc... Really hope to see a reply soon. New to the forum and new to the CCTV world too.
qman 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Depending on how wide you want the image, you would need a 2.5mm lens, and I personally recommend this camera: http://www.amebacctv.com/cc-2002.html Let me know if you need more info
AVCONSULTING 0 Posted January 21, 2005 Do you want color or b/w? Also the wider the angle you use the less detail you are going to get. What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

VST_Man 1 Posted January 21, 2005 Herminshs..why do you post with no price? Nothing worse than a tease to get to the bottom dollar?
qman 0 Posted January 21, 2005 Well, because I really don't like to post prices just like that, I dont' want people to think that I am taking advantage over anything, but if someone is interested in any of the products that I sell, I send them to my website, or they can E-mail me and I can give all of the informationt that they need. Plus whoever from this forum that order's from me, get's something extra, wheather a small discount, or free shipping.

rory 0 Posted January 22, 2005 Lens: You will need a wide lens such as 2.5 or 2.9mm. Varifocal is nice for easy installation and you can focus it to what you want to see on installation. Id recommend something like the Fujinon F:0.95 2.9-8mm lens, great for low light (notice the F stop). Lens Manufacturer's Part#: YV2.7 × 2.9LA-SA2 http://www.fujinon.co.jp/en/products/cctv2/vari-focal.htm Lens Manufacturer's Data Sheet: (PDF File) http://www.fujinon.co.jp/en/products/cctv2/pdf/b_11.pdf GE Interlogix (Kalatel) has the same lens under the part number: KTL-2.9-8VA KTL-2.9-8VA Specs: Focal length: 2.9 to 8 mm Zoom ratio: 2.75x l Max aperature: F0.95 l MOD: 0.3 m l Weight: 35.0 g (VA: 50.0 g) l Dimensions (mm): 36.7 x 33.5 x 51.3 l Dimensions (mm): 63.1 x 40.5 x 55.7 (VA: 63.2 x 40.5 x 55.2) l Camera: This camera will accept it, and this is an Exview Low Lux BW camera, which has an Infrared Response up to 1100nm. (in other words you can use Invisible Infrared LED/Bulbs in addition to this camera for pitch dark apps). Price is also very reasonable for what it is. http://bahamassecurity.com/ms/shop.asp?shop=details&id=220&cat=16 Camera Manufacturer's Data Sheet: (PDF File) http://www.ge-consultantlink.com/Docs/ktc_540E_prd.pdf
