AD Touch Tracker problem

Recommended Posts

At my work we are currently using American Dynamics Touch Trackers

Model: ADTTE with a joystick controller. We are having problems with the joystick being incredibly loose. We have sent one in for repair, and they slapped some sort of goo on it and sent it back to us, and it was loose again within a week. This makes it impossible to zoom in on anything without giving the camera free reign to spin where ever it wants whenever it wants with barely any control.

Anyone have any tricks or tips I can try out to tighten up the joystick? Being that it is not my personal equipment I am weary to try anything too drastic without being fully knowledgeable about the equipment, but I am losing my mind trying to use it as is.

Not much you can do...

You mentioned that you sent it in for repair and it crapped out withing a week... Looks like you have a good reason to call them back and give them piece of your mind... heck, I will do it for you if your want

The touchtracker you are referring to is not field repairable nor I will ask you to do anything with it except with air duster, try to clean the exterior and whatever else it reaches out... there are micro contact switches internally, including for the joystick that fail often... The only fix is to replace them all internally and not one that may have failed... if one of them fail, the rest will fail shortly...

If it is under warranty, you can ask them to advance replace this unit... and dependent who you purchased it from, that company should get involved...

If it is not under warranty, can I call them on your behalf? I'd like to have some fun with their repairs department (The National Repairs Center).. All you have to do is to call them and tell them what they have done (or better not done) and demand a replacement to be sent overnight... and if not, take it one step further and ask to talk to the manager... I know that they will take care of it for sure.

Any questions or need help for someone to call on your behalf, let me know... I will not mind...

Greetings folks! Sorry for my crap english, i'm from Poland. Looking for some help here. I'll be very glad for some advice what to do with my problem. In my present job (CCTV operator/security guard) i'm using same tracker. Few days ago one of moveing camera just locked. Can't unlock it from keybord by the LOCK key. When i select her in monitor she have got status on HOLD. When i wanna move her by the joystick in some direction (left, right, up or down) it's just automatically changeing to the LOCK mode. So what is the problem? I can use some unlock code to fix it or it's just my tracker broke?

PS. I was also looking for some clue in manual but find nothing.

OK. Problem fixed. Camera can be unlock by other tracker after using the LOCK button or 1+F1 buttons combination. I'm using two of those tracker.

Damn sorry. Wrong option was use. Should be edit in my lastest post.
