jeromephone 6 Posted November 2, 2008 We are using a couple of vivotek 6112s for a distance learning setup. cameras will work fine for that app as long as you take the time to train the users a bit. we are putting a small monitor on one end so the teacher can see what the student is seeing on his end. A couple of things will make this install easier. Use a router that has ddyns option built in and use that ddyns instead of at the camera. Some of the remote viewing is browser specific so you need to be aware of that also.
IP-Pro 0 Posted November 4, 2008 Those are good cameras. Good thing to mention the dynamic dns as well. The great thing is the camera supports a few ddns companies - some IP cameras only support one or two - which you need to pay for.
Smit9352 0 Posted November 5, 2008 Yep, they work quite well in my opinion. The only ddns I typically use is DynDns or EzDdns. Those two I have had good results from usually. Thanks, John

IP-Pro 0 Posted November 12, 2008 I believe most Vivotek products support DynDNS and it works very well.
