bobby1471 0 Posted November 21, 2008 Ok, I'm not sure I get what your saying well enough and I might be making silly replies here but basically heres how it would work. 192.168.1.101:8001 - DVR 1 192.168.1.102:8002 - DVR 2 Set these ports forwarded inside your modem/router like so: Internet.IP.Address.Here:8001->192.168.1.101:8001 Internet.IP.Address.Here:8002->192.168.1.102:8002 If you need more help feel free to tell me, as my explanation may not be clear enough or over simplified. Unless it was a typo then you need to portforward port 8000, and not port 80 as shown above. ???
advanet123 0 Posted November 22, 2008 I think I should ask a simpler question as in Is there any difference in configuration in dynamic IP or Fixed IP ? I did both port forwarding for 8000 and 80 THanks Ktak
scorpion 0 Posted November 22, 2008 I think you are good to go from what you have posted. From a remote location you would put in the Static IP address in to your browser, or you would put the static IP address in to your AP, and then you will be connected to your DVR. If this does not work then we can troubleshoot more from this point.
scorpion 0 Posted November 22, 2008 What would happen if you changed your gateway to 192.168.1.1 ????

scorpion 0 Posted November 22, 2008 What do you get when you use the browser? Microsoft cannot display this page. (or a search engine displays no search found). Can you at least get to the AnyTime & AnyWhere page, and then you have a problem after putting in the user/password? _____________________________________________________________ Using the AP what kind of message do you get? Login procedure failed? The fact that you can see video locally is a good sign! Now lets trouble shoot!

scorpion 0 Posted November 22, 2008 Can you go wide open with your router such as a DMZ? If it works wide open then it is a port issue. If it does not then it changes the troubleshooting procedure check list. Who is the Internet provider? What is the result of changing the gateway? Is this the same router even though it is a version 7? http://www.thomsonbroadbandpartner.com/dsl-modems-gateways/products/product-detail.php?id=161 Are you connected with a wire, or are you connecting wirelessly? advanet123 0 Posted November 22, 2008 Hi Scorpion, There is no DMZ for me to set, mine is Singnet in SIngapore. I have not change the gateway yet. Will try it late at client side Router version is advised by ISP not to update as they will work only with the current version for PPPOA and some other stuff I always connect on wire, never trust wireless stuff. http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Thomson-Alcatel/SpeedTouch585/MythTV.htm Funny thing about the router is that there is some configuration that are not changeable in the router configuation unless you run the software wizard. THing like PPPOE / PPPOA or VCI etc etc cannot be changed unless run with CD. I am 80 % sure it got something to do with the router. Monday is coming , I have less than 24 hours to sort it out Help if anyone know a solution ktak
