1000volts 0 Posted January 1, 2009 My current solution that provides a system with 2-way crestron control for PTZ, etc. that integrates with crestron (via controlworks module) as well as real-time video at d1 on all channels is with 2 sets of DVR's arranged as follows: Set 1. #2 Dedicated Micros DS2 120pps 16-channel at D1 Set 2. #2 Speco TT 16-channel (IR remote control) These feed into an Extron 32x32 switcher which allows both individual camera views at TV's as well as DVR call/matrix views. Advanced PTZ controls (5 PTZ cameras in all--so far) are done with dedicated micros DS2's, viewing of real time done via IR and Speco TT's. The Problem: I recently discovered that the Speco is only real time at CIF resolution. I need a DVR that has 16 (or 32) channels of D1 at full 30fps on all channels, and has some sort of control that can be used by crestron such as an IR remote. Ideally, a DVR with 2-way crestron control from a pre-written module as well as 30fps D1 across all channels would eliminate the need for 2 sets of DVR's. Clearly cost not a restraining factor, but I would not like to spend un-necessarily. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts on this. It would seem that a Casino-Grade unit would fit the bill as long as it has some sort of external control capability. Let me know with any thoughts. scorpion 0 Posted January 1, 2009 Flex with the R30 upgrade. http://icrealtime.com/solutions/dvrs.asp
1000volts 0 Posted January 1, 2009 Looks like a great unit with IR control to boot! Does this actually provide D1 resolution when all channels are set to 30fps? If I get the Pro series for rackmounting do I get any additional features? Are there any units that Rackmount, have 16 ch. audio and have loop outs?
scorpion 0 Posted January 1, 2009 The Flex series is more desk top, and the pro is more rack mounted. The pro is more for a corporate IT style DVR. I would say your decision is more budget based. If you want the pro series, and money is no object then yes I recommend the pro series, but with the R30 upgrade why go with the pro series? The pro series is not designed to go in to the menu from the front panel, and you will need to access it through the LAN. For the money I woud go witht the Flex with the R30 upgrade. Be aware that when accessing prior history video that you are only seeing two cameras at a time, and not a multiplex of all of the cameras. During playback you can access the different cameras by toggling the camera buttons. The trade off is that the video over the internet is fantastic! The video is suberb! When I first demod one of the DVRs I fell out of my chair. No surprise since I mostly sell the AVTech line of 4 channel DVR, but I was really amazed at how the video look on screen, and over the internet. If you have not demo'ed an ICreatime then you have not experienced H.264.

I would have you direct your question to them: tech@icrealtime.com I am not a ICRealtime "specialist". The Flex 16 with the R30 upgrade (R30 is the 30fps add on, and I believe they are providing one chip for every two channels for 30fps, and I have not tested a DVR with equipment to verify D1 @ 30 fps as the website says). 1000volts 0 Posted January 1, 2009 I'll get in touch with ICRealtime on this. This looks to be the ticket for my system. Thanks, Scott
flcusat 0 Posted February 16, 2009 I'll get in touch with ICRealtime on this. This looks to be the ticket for my system. Thanks, Scott Did you get any answer from them regarding this? I'm just looking at the demo of the Flex on line and the highest fps that I could get is 7 when selecting D1. At CIF I can select up to 30 fps though. I'm not impressed either with the online picture quality. I'm looking for a DVR that would display 30fps in all the 16 cameras at D1 and also could be controllable two way by RS-232 to integrate with AMX.
