ChrisB 0 Posted January 10, 2009 Hi Guys, first time to this forum. Could anyone help me to have my JE900BN PTZ dome communicate with my PC DVR system!! My software is the Shenzhen Wave-P and Ether 10104 DVR card. The dome suports several protocols. I have set up the dome to have the same as the PC,I think, but nothing!!! I've done what it says in the manual but nothing happens. The camera works through the card but no movement. Does anyone have any Ideas please. I have a RS232-RS485 converter 2 wires to dome Pelco-D 2400 Baud Address 4 because set up on number 4 camera on DVR Also checked Com on PC and made sure its running 2400 as well. ChrisB 0 Posted January 11, 2009 Hi there, yes polarity of the two wires from dome to converter are correct. I have used a nul lead from my PC so I know that there is communication. Soundy 1 Posted January 11, 2009 Might be a silly question, but are you sure the dome works properly? I don't suppose you have a joystick controller or something to test it with? Have you tried another protocol, like Pelco P? Ummm.... what else? Hmmm... have you tried foregoing the 232/485 converter and just wired a straight RS-232 connection to the dome? Get a female DB-9 connector (or hack the end off a serial cable), and connect pin 5 to ground and pin 3 (TX on the sending end) to the RX connector at the camera. Oh yeah, and that's the other thing... you probably already know this, but it's one of those silly little things that we sometimes just don't think of: you don't connect TX-to-TX, you have to connect the TX at the DVR to the RX on the camera (even I've done it a couple times, just working in brain-fart mode and not really thinking about it).
